How it works
A 401(k) plan helps you build retirement savings through automatic paycheck deductions, with tax advantages and investment options that give your money the opportunity to grow over time.
You have the option to set aside money from your paycheck on a pre-tax or post-tax basis up to the annual IRS maximums each year. The Sprinklr 401(k) plan offers Pre-tax, Roth 401(k) and After-tax with conversion options. Sprinklr also provides an employer match on your contributions each year.
How the account is funded
Sprinklr provides an annual discretionary matching contribution to the Sprinklr 401(k) plan. Sprinklr matches 30% of your 401(k) contributions up to the first 4% of your eligible compensation. Eligible compensation for the matching contribution is defined as your regular annual earnings.
Matching contributions are calculated and added in the first quarter of the following year. You must be an active employee on the last day of the calendar year in order to receive the matching contribution for that year.
Important: you are automatically enrolled in the 401(k) plan with a 5% pre-tax contribution from your pay. This makes it easier to save and helps ensure you build a secure future, take advantage of tax benefits and don’t miss out on any Sprinklr’s matching contributions. Of course, you can adjust or stop your contributions at any time, if you wish.
Contribution limits
You can contribute from 1% to 100% of your eligible compensation (up to IRS limits) to your 401(k) in any combination of pre-tax, Roth 401(k), and after-tax contributions. You may change your contribution amount at any time during the year. Your age at the end of the year determines which limit applies. Please consult a tax advisor to determine what contribution strategy is best for your situation.
IRS contribution limits for 2026
- Standard contributions: You can contribute up to $24,500.
- Catch-up contributions (ages 50–59 and 64+): You can contribute an additional $8,000, for a total of $32,500.
- Higher catch-up contributions (ages 60–63): You can contribute an additional $11,250, for a total of $35,750.
Roth catch-up requirement: If your 2025 Social Security (FICA) wages from Sprinklr exceeded $150,000, your 2026 catch-up contributions must be Roth (after-tax). This requirement applies only to catch-up contributions.
After-tax contributions & in-plan Roth conversions
You may make after-tax contributions up to the annual defined contribution plan limit, which includes your pre-tax, Roth and after-tax contributions, and Sprinklr’s matching contributions. If you choose to make after-tax contributions, you may elect to automatically convert those contributions to Roth through an in-plan conversion. This election does not happen automatically. Withdrawals
In most cases, you can’t withdraw money from your 401(k) account before you retire. However, the plan offers two optional types of withdrawals that may give you flexibility during major life events.
Domestic abuse
Participants who have experienced domestic abuse by a spouse or domestic partner within the previous 12 months may self-certify and withdraw the lesser of $10,000 (indexed for inflation), or 50% of their vested account balance
- The 10% early withdrawal penalty does not apply
- Regular income taxes apply
- Participants may repay the withdrawal within three years to restore their retirement savings
Qualified disaster
If your primary residence is in a federally declared disaster area and you experience losses:
- You may withdraw up to $22,000 per disaster
- The withdrawal is subject to income tax but not mandatory withholding
- The distribution must be taken within 180 days of the disaster declaration
These provisions apply retroactively to distributions made after Jan. 26, 2021.
FAQs
Am I automatically enrolled?
All eligible employees are auto-enrolled at a pre-tax 5% contribution rate per pay period. Your contributions begin about 30 days after your first paycheck.
How much am I vested?
You are immediately 100% vested in your entire account balance, including matching contributions. The company match is paid out to employees active as of 12/31.
What are "catch-up" contributions?
If you’re age 50 or older by the end of the year, you can make additional 401(k) contributions above the regular annual IRS limit to boost your retirement savings. If your prior-year wages from Sprinklr exceed the applicable IRS threshold, your catch-up contributions must be Roth (after-tax).
- Mandatory Roth catch-up contributions
Employees age 50 and older with prior-year FICA wages over $145,000 (indexed for inflation) are required to make catch-up contributions on a Roth (after-tax) basis, in accordance with SECURE 2.0 rules. - Enhanced “super” catch-up contributions
Employees who are age 60–63 during the calendar year may contribute up to 150% of the standard catch-up amount or $10,000, whichever is greater.
